HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

A REAL MOTHER’S DAY STORY
Boston, MA
May 9, 2008

It was about 9:00 PM and Vico (6) was in his bed, watching cartoons. His mother allows him to do this on Friday nights. Suddenly he ran from his room to the living room and said; “Mom I have to show you something”. “Go to bed”, the mother replied. “No mom, I have to show you something first”. He was insistent in his voice that was full of anxiety and the mother said, “Okay, show me, what it is?”

He ran to his school bag and the mother helped him to remove all kind of school papers. “There it is”, he said very happy. It was a blue envelop made out of construction paper. When he opened it was empty and he said; “oh no! He started to look among the other papers, in desperation while his mother observed him. While looking he started to explain to his mother; “I made something for you, for mother’s day. I put it in here, oh, no” and his eyes started to fill with tears and his voice was shaking.

“Mom I’m looking for your flowers”, Vico said to his mother. “I made them for you and I can’t find them” he continued while crying. “Where did they go” he was asking himself. The mother felt her heart was squeezing inside her chest and started to help him knowing that she had to look for flowers but at the same time she started to pray to Lord Jesus to make those flowers appear so her son could stop crying and feel so sad.

Her child's cry was honest, his frustration was for real and the mother was touched by this. The mother saw some flowers made by construction paper and asked him; “Are these beautiful flowers the ones you made for mami?” He looked to the flowers his mother was holding in her hands and still with tears in his eyes but with the brightest smile said; “Yes, mami, those are the flowers I made for you”.

The mother took him into her arms and kissed him frenetically, with those kinds of kisses that make sounds. She kissed him like a hundred times while spinning him around the kitchen, the living room and the entire house. Vico was so happy; he was now laughing and holding himself from his mother's neck while she continues spinning and kissing.

The mother said to him; “Baby, these are the most beautiful flowers I ever received in my life”. Vico look into her eyes smiling. She put him down, he went back to his room and in less than one minute he fell asleep.

The mother was very happy, and tears started to come down her eyes, while holding the flowers to her heart, those tears of joy she was holding away from Vico to see. She gave thanks to Jesus for the beautiful moment full of wonderful emotions, full of sincere love. Thanks Him because Vico was no longer sad. Thank Him because Vico most have worked hard in school to create such beautiful flowers for her. She thanks Him because He has the power to turn any little sadness into happiness. Thank you Jesus for these flowers!!!

UNA HISTORIA REAL DEL DIA DE LAS MADRES
Boston, MA
