Practice
Last weekend I took the time to practice my shooting abilities. For this situation you need to have the best instructor. Firearms are not about killing for the fun of it, or for showing off, these are very important tools that deserve respect and more than that knowledge of use and safety for you and others.
Well, I had the best instructor. With a lot of professionalism he went through the firearm, the pieces, the use and the safety measures, all over again. Then when I was able to prove to him that I got everything, I had to also prove that I knew how to get it ready and finally shot.
I had to shoot one time to feel the power, and then put it down using all safety measurements of discharging the arm. I had to do this five times; it was part of my training. Then the moment that I was waiting for arrived, shooting five shots in a row.
We put some color to the training by calling the shots; head, chest, shoulder, arm and “low blow”-this specific shot came natural for me. But I have to admit, I’m nothing like a pro (OB).
I did it. I was able to accomplish the goals and I pass my training with high standards. I felt the power in my hands, the sound in my chest, and lucky me I covered my ears.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my instructor OB.

MBTA TROLLEY
It was noon when the trolley was arriving at Cedar Grove stop towards Ashmont Station. I heard the noise like when a coconut falls on top of your cooler from a twelve feet height. Then I again heard another bang and another bang, a total of three.
There was nothing on the tracks that could cause the noise. I was there, across from this stop. The day was clear, sunny and hot. I took a look at the top of the trolley and there was the problem. The trolley was unhooked from the electrical cables. The bang noise was because the metal pole that connects the trolley hit the wagon as soon as it was loose and both factors, velocity and gravity, made it bang three times against the wagon very hard.
As soon as the trolley stops I asked the driver if he was okay. With a big smile on his face he assured me he was fine. He told me in a calm and knowledgeable tone that the trolley was unhooked and it was about to be fixed soon as T workers were on their way.
I hope the MBTA starts making regular checkups on the functioning of the system of the trolleys for the well being of the people that use the service as well as their own workers.
Because it was Sunday, just a few people were around. The best part of this story is that nothing bad happened.

Wow, what a delicious day yesterday. I was waiting for it. My bones were missing the intolerable heat, the sticky humidity, delightful, to be about to sweat but not allowing it to happen. Ah, how much I like the heat. Nosy heat affecting the look of my hair. My yummy and hot weather!
Let me tell you what I did yesterday. I woke up at 6:00 AM and I took a coqueta bath that consist of perfumed liquid soap with sponges, shaving and hair wash, the famous Saturday bath. I put on jeans, shirt, sandals and a light jacket and took off to the supermarket.
[Before getting to the supermarket I went for gas. If you go during the morning hours you get better gas because it’s not evaporated by the heat like during the night-said the experts. It cost me $40. and I didn’t fill it up, what the heck.]
Oh my goodness, I was glad I had a jacket on because the air conditioner at the supermarket was to the maximum capacity to the point I got to think I was about to suffer a spasm or about to get pneumonia. Of course, I started to jog while I was getting my stuff. At this hour between 7 and 7:30 AM it’s a pleasure to food shop because you can find parking space closed to the place or a far away one if you want to exercise. Everything in there is in order, you find what you are looking for and there are not too many people shopping, it’s so cool. (I suggest it).
Went back home and put the stuff away and it felt like I was ahead of the day with so many things accomplished so early. At noon I had a place to go to and I was done by 3:00 PM.
When I got to the street, the combination between the early morning and the heat It felt like I had received a punch on my face without a glove. I ended up on my living room’s sofa sleeping for about two hours. (The day catch me back for trying to go ahead) When I woke up the sun was still shining, the heat was still there, and what to do now? Like Jonmaicol, and Obey, I don’t like to be bored.
But what to do when it’s so hot, where to go, how much to expend, gas prices, etc. Don’t worry, Coqueta to the rescue.
Even thou I had plans to go to the beach since the morning I knew that my skin wouldn’t resist the temperature (90F) my option was to go later in the afternoon. We the people that live in Boston have the privilege of the New England coast line and a little bit further up and a little bit further down according to your taste. I thought about the economy and I choose Revere Beach as my point of destiny. It’s not too far in 20 minutes I was there.
Wearing a mini skirt, shirt and sandals I arrived. I parked a block away from Kelly’s and I walked there under a refreshing drizzle that felt so good on my skin. I ordered my food and walked back to where I was parked.
I placed a towel over the sand and I enjoyed my food. Kelly’s food is good, I trust them, it set well in my stomach thru the years I have done it. In this occasion I ordered seafood, fish and shrimps. The best part of my food is that they don’t season with too much condiments and that’s healthy. I drank water.
It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon at the beach shores while the temperature started to go down from about 90 to 77 degrees F. I went home and I slept well.
Habian desfiles a diario, asi estilo Disney.
Revere Beach
A poem by Kevin M. Carey
A long line of sea-soaked pillars
stands wading like a mystery,
tokens to a changing tide
soldiers guarding history,
once above these crippled legs
they strolled on summer nights,
folks in spats and large brimmed hats
reflecting colored lights,
big band sounds that still resound
against a starlit eve,
a single-engine piper,
flying sailors home on leave,
howls from a roller coaster
hi-fly diving horses,
bellows from a carnival boaster
a cowboy's roping hoaxes,
fun house mirrors and circus faces
long hot dogs and monkey races,
tall pole sitters, spooky critters,
and lines of marathon dancers,
there are no couples dancing
on the splinterred soldiers now,
only vacant reasons,
why the players have all bowed;
the narrow-gauge grew old one day
the crowds all fled by car,
sailors stopped coming, rides stopped running,
and night clubs turned to bars,
fires torched the wooden frames
the final parting message,
and storms swept out the ashes
past the beach's only vestige;
a tired set of crooked legs
reminds us ever more,
the show has left the boulevardand
closed tight all its doors,
and the last great cowboys do their tricks.
"We must not conceal from visitors, the long sweep of the open beach which is the finest thing about the reservation."

Boston Celtics Fans
Yo comi langosta esquisita.Saturday, May 31, 2008
Friday Night Clubbing
“Going out on Fridays to the club? I’m tired.” Well this statement is completely false with MY PEOPLE. Gee, they don’t stop!!! I was under a peer pressure that I couldn’t resist and I coqueta myself up and I drove to Vincent’s.
My friends were already there with a parking space reserved for me, thanks to Candy Vibe. There were Javy and Monroe, China, Diva, Ma y Pa, and Mell. We always have a reason to celebrate, and if there is none, we will make it up. This time was that Diva graduated from her Associates Degree, and we wanted to celebrate big, and we did.
We had such a good time. Of course MY Peps, drink with moderation and behave so properly. Anyways enjoy the video. Corre el video…!
Coqueta
a. Destrezas de supervivencia.
b. Aprendiendo sobre tus equipos, construyendo tu caseta.
h. Adaptarte a el frio o el calor.
2. Sucio debajo de mis unas. No me voy a quitar los zapatos o mi pedicurista me mata.
(No quiero nada rastreandome.)
8. Insectos en las duchas.
10. El olor de tu ropa cuando regresas.

Camping English Version
Camping has become Coqueta’s hobby for the past years. Ah! There is nothing like exposing yourself to the woods, the outdoors, and the nature. Living in a city with its noise, pollution and the daily routine of work during the winter time can wear you out a bit. But by placing yourself out there in the middle of the woods, under the shadow of the pine trees, listening to the singing of diverse birds and the smell of burning logs can transport you to a magical world. This magical world does not exist unless you make the effort to create it for yourself.
When was the last time you experience the dark of the night and its silence while watching a fire burning? Have you ever experience the good company of your friends having Coqueta’s drink recipes sitting around that fire forming a circle and talking about anything (jokes, scary stories, about your life, life or anybodies life) until the sun is about to show.
Feeling the last cold of the winter on the last week of May here in New England inside your sleeping bag have no comparison to the cold that you feel while in your apartment and on top of that with the heat on. Believe me this cold is so refreshing that can give you the best night sleep that you can afford. (I recommend an air mattress under your sleeping bag, of course.)
Waking up with the singing of the birds, when you had finished sleeping all you wanted to and not to the sirens of the ambulance, fire truck or police (sometimes your neighbors) it’s priceless. Preparing your breakfast in the cool morning at the grill and having your favorite warm drink it’s just part of all the magic that you can create.
What about taking a trail walk, a tour with an expert nature guide, a swim in a pond, a kayak adventure, or just swinging in your own hammock? No radio, no television, no computer, except a cell phone just to give directions to your friends and families coming over to the camp site.
Every year my starting point of my summer season is the Memorial Day weekend. I make my plans on January and I carefully chose my camping sites. I make my list of the places I want to visit, I make an inventory of my camping gears, in case I need to replace or add some. The list of the friends and family that I would like to take with me is also planned.
It is my intension to give you ideas that can boost your life.
These days when the prices of everything has rise so ridiculously I have to be careful with my budget. More than keeping my pocket healthy there are many reasons why I like camping.
Advantages of camping:
1. One of the advantages of camping is the price. One camp site for a long weekend will cost you the same amount of dollars a hotel room with indoor swimming pool will charge per day.
2. In a hotel room the number of people is limited compared to a group camp site where you can accommodate up to 40 of your crazy friend and family members.
3. You don’t need to buy gears every year.
4. You bring the food to cook compare to buying already made food.
5. You can not cook in some hotel rooms but at most of the camp sites you can.
6. You gather with your friends and can have your conversation until morning, of course, you can not laugh the way I do after 10:00 PM or the rangers will tell you to “be quiet”.
7. In the woods you have space to do some athletic challenges with your group. You can also have talent shows; stand up comedy and any other crazy ideas to do for fun.
8. At camping you get in touch with Mother Nature.
9. You get the peace that modern civilization does not offer.
10. The memories of good times with your friends and families are forever. Let’s not forget the teaching/learning experience for all.
Teaching/Learning Experiences:
a. Survival skills
b. Learning your gears, building your tent.
c. Dealing with burning logs, cooking in the outdoors. Torch and oil use. Flash lights and so on.
d. Respecting fires and keeping them under control. Use water to extinguish the fire before going to sleep.
e. Dealing with knife and axes.
f. Limiting the use of water to drink, clean and cook. (You can shower in most sites and use the toilet too.)
g. Including all ages of your group in all your activities.
h. Dealing with the cold/heat.
i. Learning about the animals of the woods, and respecting them. Do not forget you’re visiting their house. You don’t even kill an ant. You don’t feed wild animals, and don’t leave food, trash and your cooking gears out during the night.
j. It is our responsibility to teach our children to love and respect nature for the well being of the future of our planet.
Well, I hope you enjoy my experience. For questions and more details you can always email me at CoquetaClub@aol.com.
Have a great time!
Cons about camping according to my chic Coqueta member Nikki:
1. Oh boy! The insects, the mosquitoes, the flies, anybody OFF?
2. Dirt under my nails. I’m keeping my shoes on or my pedicure person will kill me.
3. Washing my hair and feeling I’m freezing during the night.
4. The tics, horror!
5. What about the raccoons, can they not just come to check our coolers at night?
6. Crying not to go to your tent at dark after listening to scary stories. “Boston Strangler”, “The death girl of the truckers”, “The Ghost of the children in the attic”. “The spirits of the woods”. These were some of the stories that I’m struggling to forget.
7. Walking to the bathroom during the day is a trip, but finding a safe spot to pee at night as a female is terrible. (I don’t want anything crawling over me.)
8. Bugs on the shower.
9. No signal for computers, and for cell phones; no cell chargers (well, I discovered the bathroom plugs.)
10. The smell of your cloths when you get back.

ESTOY CRIANDO A MIS HIJOS SOLA
Por T.D. Jakes
---T.D. Jakes
