You Are Appreciated

This weekend we gather at Jen’s place to recognized the professionalism of our employees at N.I.C.E. Inc. Every day, year round, this group of teachers, coordinators, food server, administrators and director offer to the families of this community all their dedication, professionalism and love in order to develop better families, better children and a better future for all. We do all this out of passion, love and understanding that “it takes a village” to develop children in a healthy and safe environment. I have to say, we are the best! We decided to do it in a very informal way so we could relax but more than that we could have fun; and we did.

Some of our co-workers and friends shared their favorite dishes and those that cooking is not their passion, like me, brought what we do best, drinks.

One of my rules was that in order to taste my amazing Pina Coladas everyone have to eat, that was easy, the food was delicious.

Second rule: Everyone have to sing, or dance, and they tricked me, because some of our friends acted shy, “yeah right”, suddenly, they were up there with me singing and dancing.

Once again, on behalf of the administration, thank you very much for all you do. Keep it up!
Jav, Coqueta & Alicia
Jav & Jen: I think I know this one!

Jav: She sings so beautiful!!!
Will: "Instrumental", nene, not that part, the lirycs.
You sing that part and I sing this one!

Anyone Bacardi?

We are the best, because our BOSS! She is THE BEST. "I know".

Coqueta Trivia

Out of three finalist of Coqueta’s Trivia Contest, we (well, I) have the winner.

Chico 3:

Thank you so much to the married man that participated and wanted me to keep this a secret. He was the one with the correct answers, sorry, but you are married and not to me. He was “el casi ganador” until he refuses to bring his wife, oh well, too bad. Adios.

Chico 2:

Bostonian good looking you tried hard and your answers were very funny. Know what? Let’s have a snack together one of these afternoons. What about a yacht to G-Island? You got it!

Chico 1:

Baby, you were a chaos. Your answers were so hilarious I’m still laughing. Because I like your answers better, because you look great, you won. See you this weekend.

Boston Police

MBTA TROLLEY

It was noon when the trolley was arriving at Cedar Grove stop towards Ashmont Station. I heard the noise like when a coconut falls on top of your cooler from a twelve feet height. Then I again heard another bang and another bang, a total of three.

There was nothing on the tracks that could cause the noise. I was there, across from this stop. The day was clear, sunny and hot. I took a look at the top of the trolley and there was the problem. The trolley was unhooked from the electrical cables. The bang noise was because the metal pole that connects the trolley hit the wagon as soon as it was loose and both factors, velocity and gravity, made it bang three times against the wagon very hard.

As soon as the trolley stops I asked the driver if he was okay. With a big smile on his face he assured me he was fine. He told me in a calm and knowledgeable tone that the trolley was unhooked and it was about to be fixed soon as T workers were on their way.

I hope the MBTA starts making regular checkups on the functioning of the system of the trolleys for the well being of the people that use the service as well as their own workers.

Because it was Sunday, just a few people were around. The best part of this story is that nothing bad happened.
