FALL

I love this season, Fall. I love the different colors, from green, to yellow, to orange, to red, to brown.
I like that is a cold that my body can deal with and the fashion, whoa, I love the boots, with nice turtle neck sweters, coordinating jackets, hair out.

The following are photos that I took during my lunch break today. It was so relaxing the connection with nature, at a small scale. Enjoy.

Do you know how to make a Tootsie Roll?

I would like to say; Hola to B and G, my co-workers at the golf club, also bartenders. What would I do without them? Another special, Hola to H, our boss, in previous post.

Here is B, the pro bartender.

Red Sox Frustration

Tonight at the magical Fenway Park the Red Sox Nation didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy a game won at home. Red Sox lost 7-5 to the Angels.

Well, I like the good looking guys around, the company, the hot dog and the one beer, just because I was thirsty, I had. The tickets were thanks to Springfield College Alumni Association, which I’m proudly belong to, in order to benefit the fundraising foundation.

I love the Fenway and its magic because you never get bored, after that I went home and continued my laundry. The following are my visual impressions.

It’s going to be a long night!

That was my thinking when I first arrived to the small salon in Brookline where a dinner to benefit the Breast Cancer March was taking place. This event was organized by some Chilean friends, Carola, Andrea, Arnaldo and their “comitiva”. Mimo (JL) invited me cause I was so” aburrida” to the point I was about to start cooking, something it’s not my passion.

After about 10:00 PM people settle down. There was a presentation, an agenda of what the night would bring and I was like," it sounds good, let’s see". So I decided to walk to the bar and there was the bar tender.

The bar tender reminded me my daddy, so I was like, oh boy, how can I ask him I want “sex on the beach”. But I didn’t have to; the guy was not a bartender at all, didn’t know about recipes but was willing to prepare something for me. I asked for vodka, he didn’t have it, I was about to laugh out loud, but I said give me a minute.

I took a very close look at the bar and there was my adorable Boricua Bacardi (blanco), Peach Liqueur and Triple Sec. I asked the (daddy look alike) bar tender to mix it for me and he did it. This drink that I called “chilerrican”, for the night, was so good. It tasted as peach mostly but made me dance reggaeton as a diva, sing Marc Anthony’s songs as Grammy winner and removed my shirt because of the heat, lol, not. I recommend it!

At the end it was not too long or too short, it was a very good night and I enjoyed like it was the last night of my life, as I always do.

Now, por su puesto, the evidence. You Enjoy!!!

Practice

Last weekend I took the time to practice my shooting abilities. For this situation you need to have the best instructor. Firearms are not about killing for the fun of it, or for showing off, these are very important tools that deserve respect and more than that knowledge of use and safety for you and others.

Well, I had the best instructor. With a lot of professionalism he went through the firearm, the pieces, the use and the safety measures, all over again. Then when I was able to prove to him that I got everything, I had to also prove that I knew how to get it ready and finally shot.

I had to shoot one time to feel the power, and then put it down using all safety measurements of discharging the arm. I had to do this five times; it was part of my training. Then the moment that I was waiting for arrived, shooting five shots in a row.

We put some color to the training by calling the shots; head, chest, shoulder, arm and “low blow”-this specific shot came natural for me. But I have to admit, I’m nothing like a pro (OB).

I did it. I was able to accomplish the goals and I pass my training with high standards. I felt the power in my hands, the sound in my chest, and lucky me I covered my ears.

I would like to take this o
pportunity to thank my instructor OB.

I love Islands

Vacations for me have to include a beach day whenever possible. Here at Topsail Island, North Carolina; the water was warm and furious. The sun was shinning, the temperature was perfect. All this combined with the great company of good friends, who could ask for more.

This trip to the beach was not planned. I was in the room when I heard Tony screamed, “ma’, put you swim suit on, we are going to the beach”. That was like music to my ears, like an order. I came out of the room in my swim suit and my bag ready for the day.

After eating our Chinese food at a restaurant, Nat, Tony, OB, SE and I reached our destination. I had a great time, unforgettable. Thanks guys.

The following are my photos impressions for you to enjoy.Surfing board out of my feet.

Coqueta like always

I didn’t know the fun I was missing.

My Instructor I never thought that going into a batting cage could be so much fun. After warming up my muscles, and in the company of my instructor for major leagues, (even for eating), OB, we tried this activity. I loved it. Revitalizing!

In this specific place there were a few cages and each one had different ball speeds. We tried all. The truth is that it was easy to hit the ball at a higher speed than at the slower speed.

At the highest speed the expectation grows and the eye sight sharpens and I hold the bat stronger, legs grounded on the floor, ---zooooom---I was so happy to see my balls (LOL) going up there hitting the closed ceiling.
At the slow speed is another story. I was so bore waiting for the freaking ball, and the ball never came. I didn’t like that. The funny thing is when the machine pitched the ball it was like observing a slow motion picture of the ball, the anticipation to hit the ball grew out of limit that I step to the front looking for the ball and hitting with the bat like I was about to kill a bug. This motion of mine caused my left foot to step over a little hill and I was about to roll down together with the ball, the bat, and my beautiful body. I was able in the last minute to balance and I didn’t fall but this was a funny event that caused my “instructor” to laugh out loud for a few minutes.

I immediately change to the high speed cage. After all, it was a great experience. I recommend it.
